Good morning. It is another nice day and I hope the promised rain stays away.
This Saturday, 9th April 2011 we return to STRATHAVEN for a special trial market in the TOWN CENTRE. Our markets in Strathaven do provoke dialogue in the community. Some want it at our recognised site in Sainsburys car park. Some want us in the Town Centre. Some don’t want the market at all but this group are very much in the minority.
So on Saturday come to the public car park, off The Common Green and you can enjoy a 19 or 20 stall market. There will be 15 food stalls and 4 non-food stalls. The food stalls offer a wide variety of quality produce from traditionally farmed beef, lamb & pork to locally produced breads, butter and free range poultry. We are also pleased to have Border County Foods who have an interesting Game stall including wild venison. They offer some very interesting alternatives. Scottish Tapas will be offering genuine Catalan dishes using the correct ingredients grown in Ayrshire. Want a PANCAKE – visit The Apple Pie.
The non-food stalls are Caurnie Soaperie, Renewable Resources, a Strathaven Toddlers Group [face painting] AND VICTORIA ECCLES!!!!
We look forward to another good day visiting Strathaven and we are confident of a good turn out – even the Environmental Health Department will be giving us the once over! See you there!
