Strathaven Farmers’ Market Saturday 8th September 9 till 1pm, car park off the Common Green

Lanarkshire Farmers’ Market are delighted to say that we have now secured a licence for a regularly monthly market in Strathaven Town Centre. After much  lobbying from customers, residents and stall holders the market is moving to a permanent location in the car park off Comon Green. This month we will have two local restaurants at the market Scott Baxter from Rissons and staff from the Taal both of whom will be demonstrationg their mouth watering recipes. There will also be a scarecrow making workshop for anyone wishing to pick up tips and ideas for their entry into next months Scarecrow Competition held in conjunction and judged at  Fruit Day in the Clyde Valley on the 6th October, there will be a cash prize for the best primary/nursery school entry and a market voucher for the best individual, full details at the market.

We have a compliment of stalls Overton Farm and Butchery will be bringing what may be the last of the home grown strawberries and Clyde Valley tomatoes for this season, from their farm they will have some Clyde Valley veal and a market special of 20% discount off sirloin steaks, Crymbles Confectionery have promised some toothsome delights including irn bru and Buckfast flavoured fondant creams as well as chocolate pizza! St Bride’s Poultry will be bringing some oven ready free range guinea fowl along with their delicious chickens. Also on board are Alexander Taylor’s Bakery, Vanilla Treats, Lochbyre Rare Breed Pork, Carmichael Estate Meats including their wonderful venison and Threepwood Fayre who will be bringing sweet treats and some cheese.
