It’s Clarkston Farmers’ Market this Saturday, and we’re looking forward to it. We have some great autumnal produce to take the chill off this cooler weather. Coming from the orchards in the Clyde Valley, Overton Farm have Victoria plums, large damsons, cooking apples, Worcester eating apples, can you feel a crumble coming on? There’s also new season root veg, plenty of Maris Piper & King Edward tatties & the fresh beetroot is just delicious roasted. If you’re in the mood to make preserves then there’s plenty to pickle, bottle, make into jam and loads of green tomatoes for chutney.
We’ll have a great selection of local produce with Carmichael Estate Farm Meats, Roe deer, farmed venison, beef & lamb, Fencebay fresh & smoked fish, St Bride’s Free Range Poultry chicken, duck & guinea fowl, Overton Farm veal. beef & lamb, Lochbyre Rare Breed Meat with Old Spot Pork & Shetland lamb, Alexander Taylor artisan breads & pastries, Thorntonhall Ice Cream delicious flavours, The Wee Fudge is back as is Island Cheese, Vanilla Treats will warm you up with a hot chocolate & some great home baking, Perthshire Preserves for hand made jam, Alesela artisan ales there’s one there for every occasion, chutney and rounding off with Caurnie Soap natural skincare.
