Overton Farmers’ Market & Clyde Valley Fruit Day this Saturday 5th October from 9 till 2pm , Crossford, Clyde Valley

Clyde Valley Fruit DayThis Saturday we will be celebrating the tradition of fruit growing in the Clyde Valley. Along side our regular farmers’ market stalls will be a marquee where you can try your hand at woodturning, make a bird feeder or go on a mini beast hunt. The Orchard group will be displaying different varieties of local apples,you can watch the apples being pressed then have a taste of the delicious freshly pressed apple juice, you may even win a fruit tree in their raffle.There’s plenty for the kids with pony rides and face painting.

Linsey Scott from The New Lanark Mill will be demonstrating our market produce at 4 time slots throughout the day, entry to the tasting tent is £2.50 per demo (or £7.50 for all 4). Linsey will demonstrate a dish which you can then taste along with further treats that she has prepared earlier, Strathaven Ales will be on hand to offer some refreshment a taster of their Micro Brewery Ales to add to the local food tasting experience.

As if the day is not fun packed enough we are also holding our annual Scarecrow Competition, many Lanarkshire schools have entered the competition, if you would like to enter as an individual or family please see the tab on our page you could win a hamper full of market goodies.

It’s always a brilliant day, it’s great fun and to make the day go with a swing our market band ‘Teribus’ will be on hand. Looking forward to you joining in our Celebration of the Clyde Valley this Saturday…….
